You Shall Live Again

Recently while working out one morning, I noticed the perimeter of the property was covered with black tarp. It was there to shield and protect what was behind it. As I walked the perimeter, something caught my eye.

Right in the middle of all that covering, a small green branch had pushed through a tiny opening. It should have been blocked and hidden. Instead, it was standing there, bright, green and alive.

In that moment the Holy Spirit started to minister to me. This is how life can feel. The tarp looked like the weight we carry. The pressure, the disappointment, the battles in marriage that no one sees, the quiet tears of motherhood, the demands of ministry and the expectations from work and family.

Sometimes it can feel like all of this is trying to suffocate you and keep you from moving forward. Yet right there, in the middle of it all, was evidence that life can still break through.

In that quiet place I heard three simple words in my spirit, “You shall live”.

Scripture Reflection

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Psalm 118:17

Heart Truths

That small glimpse of life reminded me of the powerful truth that we are built to bounce back.

You will not just survive or just crawl to the finish line of this year, but live.

Maybe this year has felt heavy for you.
Maybe you have been pressing through challenges in your home.
Maybe your heart is tired from carrying so much.

I want you to know this.
You have the God given ability to bounce back.
You have the Holy Spirit living inside you.
You can push through what tried to bury you.

The same way that little branch found a way through the tarp, God can cause fresh life to rise in you again. Your faith can grow again. Your hope can rise again. Your love can be strengthened again for your husband, your children, your people.

The same God who gives strength to that plant is the One who gives strength to you and will enable you to finish well.

Loving Well In Action

Finishing well in faith means deciding you will not quit when life feels heavy. It means holding on to what God said about you even when the evidence doesn’t match.

Here’s how to put that truth into action:

1.     Pause and pray. Ask God to show you where you’ve stopped believing.

2.     Push again. Pick up one thing you set aside this year and finish it in faith.

3.     Praise through it. Thank God not just for what He’s done, but for what He’s still growing in you.

Let’s finish the year well and finish in faith.
