He stopped the clock.
Have you ever watched a situation unravel in real time and thought that there is absolutely no way this works out? The odds stacked. The clock ticking and you running anyway. Well, this was us.
Our flight landed early, which sounds like good news, until it wasn’t.
We sat on the plane, waiting for a gate, while our connecting flight was already boarding. I was seated at the front. My husband was all the way in the back. We had fifteen minutes before the doors closed.
Then the message came through. “Your flight is leaving five minutes early. Check for alternate flights.”
What felt like a small window suddenly felt impossible.
After what felt like forever, my husband finally made his way off the plane. We had ten minutes left to get from Terminal T to Terminal A, the furthest possible gate. There was a train with six stops standing between us and that plane door.
I am not going to pretend I was calm, because I was not.
We ran to the train and got on. I watched the stops tick by, doing the math in my head. The kind of math that never adds up in your favor. Everything about it said we would miss that flight.
Then, just as it felt completely impossible, another notification came through. “Your flight is delayed ten minutes.”
The clock stopped. Time paused just for us.
We made it to the gate. We got on the flight. And I stood there thinking: God just moved for us. What looked impossible shifted in an instant. That is who He is.
God will make time for you. He will delay what needs to be delayed. He will move what needs to be moved.
But here is the part I keep coming back to, it did not happen without us moving first.
I think about David. The oil did not flow from Samuel’s horn until David was brought in from the field. He had to be called. He had to come. He had to show up.
God was ready. David still had to arrive and so do we.
When God is involved, what feels final is never final.
Scripture Reflection“The LORD has gone out before you…” — 2 Samuel 5:24
God does not wait for you to figure it all out before He moves. He goes ahead. He prepares what you cannot see. He aligns what you cannot control.
While we were running, God was already at the gate making a way. The delay was not random. The timing was not off. He was already there working before we arrived.
This is what faith looks like in motion. You move, trusting that God is already ahead of you.
Heart TruthsGod’s faithfulness does not depend on perfect conditions. It meets you in motion. He moves when you move. He makes a way, but He often waits for your feet to take the first step.
Delays are not always denial. Sometimes they are divine adjustments. The impossible only looks impossible until it isn’t. Don’t stop at the notification that says check alternate flights. Run to the gate first.
What feels like running out of time can be God stepping in to reorder time. Your timeline is not the final word, His is.
Worry will freeze you. Faith will move you. When you choose trust over panic, you are telling God: I believe You are already there.
You still have to show up. God is faithful and you are still part of the story.
Loving Well In ActionIf you feel like time is running out in any area of your life or your relationships, walk this out with intention:
Pause your panic and return to God. When pressure rises, choose presence over panic. Remind yourself that He is still in control.
Keep moving with what is in your hands. Do not wait for perfect timing. Take the next step you can see and trust God with the rest.
Speak life over the situation. Your words shape your atmosphere. Choose to declare faith even when your feelings say otherwise.
Stay in position for what you are believing for. Do not pull back. Keep showing up where it matters most.
Trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. Silence is not absence. He is moving behind the scenes on your behalf.
In your marriage, this may look like choosing to love intentionally even when the response is not immediate.
In motherhood, it may look like staying consistent even when progress feels slow.
In your faith, it looks like surrendering your timeline and trusting His completely.
Your LoveNote ChallengeYour husband has shown up for you. Sometimes in big ways. Sometimes in quiet, unseen ways. Even when the odds did not look good.
This week, write him a note that starts with:
“I have watched you show up even when it looked impossible, and I want you to know…”
Tell him what his faithfulness has meant to you. Let him know you see it. Don’t just think it, say it.
Finish With IntentionDo not fret. Do not worry. Move anyway.
God’s faithfulness has never required perfect circumstances. It responds to willing feet.
You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep moving toward what God has placed before you.
The clock may shift for you too, but first, you have to believe it is worth the run.
What looks impossible is only impossible until God steps in.
Keep moving. Keep trusting. Run well. Love well.
